The incoming Greater Boston Regional Team will serve three primary audiences:

  • Informal educators (including National Park Service and Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation rangers) and nonprofit partners in Boston Harbor and Boston Harbor Islands State & National Park
  • Teachers in the Boston Public School system and neighboring districts
  • Communications professionals working in partner organizations

This team was selected for participation in the 2022 Earth to Sky Academy (see selection announcement). Earth to Sky regional teams go through a competitive application process and are invited to travel to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for a week of training in NASA climate science, communication techniques, and Earth to Sky methodology. After completing the Academy, each team will offer one or more climate communication courses in their region, while serving as a resource and focal point for their community of interpreters and informal educators on an ongoing basis.
