Heidi Zamzow is a former oceanographer and science communicator for the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, California. She moved from the natural to the social sciences to gain a better understanding of the motivational and structural barriers to individual, organizational, and societal action on climate change. Her thesis research focuses on developing behavioural insights to inform and strategically communicate policies to facilitate a transition to more sustainable dietary norms. She also works with the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change studying public perceptions and attitudes towards climate change and climate action in the UK. Now in the final year of her PhD at the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Heidi hopes to apply her graduate studies to designing and implementing more effective, behaviourally informed climate and ocean policies.
