Abstract:  Training staff and volunteers in interpretation, and about your site's resources, is critical to the success of your Interpretive Program. But learning new content, and incorporating that content into interpretive work can be challenging. How can you help ensure that your training sessions are effective? Join us as we reveal the structure of a proven model for effective training, the NPS-USFWS-NASA Earth to Sky courses. We will model conditions that promote learning and lead to building a community of practice; share strategies of providing authentic work time; provide opportunity for interaction and reflection; and showcase positive results of this approach.
