History & Hope for Climate Action is a National Park Service interpretive toolkit that helps communicators tell empowering, people-centric stories about climate change. By grounding the way we talk about climate change in history, we encourage the public to draw connections between stories of the past and hope for the future, with the goal of inspiring visitors to climate action.
Elizabeth Villano is a communication ranger at the NPS Climate Change Response Program. She's spent her career focusing on elevating non-dominant narratives and talking about climate change. She combined these two subjects through the creation of a toolkit called "History & Hope for Climate Action: an Interpretive Toolkit" that encourages rangers to use people-centered stories to communicate about climate change.
