Bio/Abstract

Navigating the national climate database maintained at the National Center for Environmental Information can be a daunting experience for even the most seasoned internet data-miners. Fortunately, there is a web-based interface called xmACIS which is a product of the NOAA Northeast Regional Climate Center and is based on a data query concept called xmClimate that was developed by the National Weather Service Office in Juneau Alaska. Using this web-based application, users can very quickly call up climate information and statistics for locations all across the United States within seconds!

Rick is a 20-year Navy veteran, with 10 of those years spent as a meteorology and physical oceanography technical specialist. He is currently a senior forecaster with the National Weather Service in Juneau, Alaska.
