Bio/Abstract

Rick Thoman works as a climate specialist with the Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he focuses on on providing relevant and timely climate information with a focus on rural Alaska. He has worked as a weather and climate professional for 38 years in both the public and private sectors, including more than 30 years with the National Weather Service Alaska Region as meteorologist and as Climate Sciences and Services Program Manager.
