Day one of the Recharge! series was like a funnel: We went from big-picture global ideas to local climate impacts through discussions and interactive presentations. PhD candidate Kayla Bordelon started off our day with a presentation asking a big question: “How do we know what we know?” Kayla debriefed systems thinking and led discussions on how other types of knowledge can add layers of meaning to climate change discussions. Participants discussed the importance of cultural knowledge, traditional Western scientific knowledge, experiential knowledge, and artistic knowledge.
