In this session, ETS Idaho invited NASA climate scientists to join us for an informal panel we called “Speed Date a Scientist." While the tone was light—scientists were asked to do a show-and-tell with an item around them–there were also moments of inspiration. When asked how they stay hopeful amidst bad news surrounding climate change, Dr. Bridget Seegers explained that because we know the causes of climate change, it isn’t like we are “being hurled toward the sun for unknown reasons," and therefore is grateful climate change is a problem we can fix. Dr. Josh Reager introduced us to his alter ego, Climate Elvis. Dr. JT Willis gave an excellent metaphor for scientists, describing them as “doctors for the planet."
