For the final day of the Recharge! series, we were joined by Dr. Jenn Ladino. Dr. Ladino is an author and a professor at the University of Idaho, focusing on environmental humanities. Prior to teaching, Dr. Ladino was with the National Park Service for 13 years.
Dr. Ladino and Kayla show that emotions are already embedded in climate change discussions. The two offer strategies for allowing emotions to be present in educational spaces, and how to develop programs and lessons with emotions in mind. This presentation challenges the typical trajectory for environmental presentations ending in hope, suggesting that other emotions your audience may have are just as valid and can also be used to inspire action.
